Generico

The Greek word K???? means near, to come close, to unite, and it well represents the poetics behind the exhibition, which winds its way through the exhibition in a single installation, composed of the individual canvases, as if to make up one big body - one big work - in which the various fragments that make up the installation are body parts of subjects detached from each other, trapped by the confines of the canvases, hoping to have even the slightest contact. Subjects desperate in the search for the other who beg for even a small imperceptible contact, in an attempt to recompose themselves, cog after cog, as a single body.

Fabio Modica shares his experience, emphasizing how closure has changed the way we experience relationships, creating distance and distrust between people. The exhibition becomes an opportunity to reflect on long-distance digital relationships, which have become predominant during the pandemic, but which have also led to the cancellation of interpersonal relationships and aggression in the virtual sphere. Through ?????, Modica expresses her constant need for contact and desire to move naturally, finding her body in a fluid relationship with others. The exhibition will also present the two sketches and documentary videos of the mural works created by the artist for the Emergence Festival, dedicated to Peppino Impastato in the Municipality of Oliveri and to the Brancati Prize in Zafferana Etnea. and Zafferana Etnea in memory of the Brancati Prize.

The exhibition with free admission will be open until Aug. 10: Monday to Saturday 9 a.m./7 p.m.-Sunday and holidays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
