St. Agatha Village Sports Center

The Urban Park is located in the Villaggio Sant'Agata neighborhood, built in the southern part of the built-up area of Catania. Thanks to the redevelopment carried out with funds from PON Metro 2014-2020, both the 5-a-side soccer field and the surrounding area have been totally regenerated, which includes a playground area dedicated to the youngest children and a fitness area, in which numerous state-of-the-art equipment for sports activities have been installed.
In addition, the place plays an important role within the strategies of urban animation and multipurpose activities (recreational, sports, social)
of the City, thanks in part to its strategic location within the St. Agatha Village neighborhood.
In addition to the three well-defined areas (sports field, fitness area, playground area), the Urban Park boasts numerous smart furnishings, including smart benches and tables equipped with smartphone charging, USB ports, internet and bluetooth connection, which also make it a valuable place for leisure and socialization thus fostering processes of social inclusion, a theme that played a central role in the reorganization of the space that took place in 2023.
