The exhibition "Caravaggio: The Truth of Light," organized by the Metamorfosi Association, in collaboration with Demetra Promotion and curated by Pierluigi Carofano, displays, for the first time in Sicily some masterpieces by Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio (Milan 1571 ? Porto Ercole 1610).
The exhibition, focusing on the Lombard artist's career, presents 36 paintings to the Catanese public, not only by Caravaggio himself but also by the so-called "caravaggesti," including Guercino, Annibale and Ludovico Carracci, as well as Mattia Preti and Luca Giordano.
This will be open to visitors from June 1 to October 6, 2024, and will also be an opportunity to inaugurate the Pinacoteca of the former Monastery of Santa Chiara, returned to the city after a major redevelopment.
