It was inaugurated Saturday, January 14 at 6 p.m., at the Ursino Castle, Piero Zuccaro's exhibition entitled ?Visual Meditation?
An exhibition project where the artist - a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro - between painting, music and poetry, crosses the deep sense for spirituality of Franco Battiato, the protagonist with the author of an unpublished video installation in which the famous composer, who died in May 2021, recites verses of the poet Shitao that sound like a warning about the purity of soul with which to approach Painting.
Curated by art historian Sergio Troisi, the exhibition is produced by the Fondazione per l'Arte e la Cultura Lauro Chiazzese and organized under the patronage of the City of Catania and the partnership of the Teatro Stabile di Catania, whose technicians are in charge of staging and lighting. At the opening, Giovanni Grasso, chairman of the council committee on culture, Giovanni Puglisi, president of the Lauro Chiazzese Foundation, the curator and the artist spoke.
Forty of Zuccaro's works ? oils, pastels and silkscreens ? set up on the ground floor of the Frederician castle: a dialogue with the Civic Museum's collection of archaeological finds that culminates with Zuccaro's video work ?Interno incerto e oscillante?, created to the notes of Battiato's Messa Arcaica.
Piero Zuccaro's exhibition ?Visual Meditation? will be on view until April 30, 2023. The ticket is included in the entrance fee to the Castello Ursino Civic Museum.
EXHIBITION CLOSURE EXTENDED TO MAY 15, 2023.
